20th - 22nd October 2014 in Glasgow, Scotland

This international workshop brings together more than 100 world-leading theorists and experimentalists from the fields of quantum optics and quantum many-body systems, working with cold atomic and molecular gases, optical lattices, cavities, cold ions, Rydberg atoms and polar molecules.

A focus of the workshop is the understanding of interactions between a quantum system and its environment, and how these open quantum system dynamics combine with the behaviour of many-body AMO systems. The 20 invited world-class international speakers include Prof. Immanuel Bloch and Dr. Mari-Carmen Bañuls from MPQ Garching.

The event is funded by the "International Max Planck Partnership" and hosted by the University of Strathclyde. It takes place at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow. Partners are the University of Glasgow, the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute/AEI), the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light, the University of St Andrews, the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics, the Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh, the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids, the University of Edinburgh, and the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research.

Registration is already closed, but depending on the places available, registration may be extended until 30 September 2014, with a late registration rate.
